May feels like such a fitting time to honor and celebrate Motherhood. Mother’s Day occurs during one of the best times of the year, Spring. Especially, here in Dallas when the weather is perfect and wildflowers are in full bloom. As a Dallas Maternity Photographer, I couldn’t recommend a better season for having photos done outdoors!
I had the pleasure of documenting several beauties in their varying stages of motherhood this Spring so far. I’m looking forward to the many more I get to capture through this wondrous season. In May, I love capturing Mommy and Me sessions that showcase the love and tender moments between Mom and her sweet children. It’s so pure and heartfelt to be able to preserve these special moments in time as the time spent with our little ones is so fleeting!
The early days with our little ones are so precious. One day they are tiny and in need of our constant attention then with a blink of an eye, they’ve become mature and independent. As parents, we often wonder where the time has gone, sometimes even forgetting how small they once were. Until we stumble upon objects and old photographs that refresh our memory of these earlier moments. This is why, as a Dallas maternity photographer I stress the importance of documenting all stages of motherhood. To serve as an archive of all the milestones, growth, and beauty in the motherhood journey.
As a mother myself, I understand the importance of commemorating the precious moments spent with our babies. Because the thing about time, it’s something we can never get back. But the magical thing about a photograph is that time stands still and that moment is preserved for the life of the image.
It would be with deep regret to not have images with your children to be cherished for a lifetime.
I highly recommend harmonizing color through wardrobe in photos with others to add visual interest.
Wearing the same color in photos can also work by adding print and texture to elevate the outcome of the photos.
Mama and daughter are wearing dresses from my client closet. I take great pride in the collections of dresses being offered so far. I have hand-selected each piece to flatter the figures of both expecting and post-partum figures.
In photos where everyone is wearing the same color, I recommend assigning 1 family member to wear print or various shades of the same color.
If you love matching mommy and me pieces, check out some of my favorite retailers!
I’d love nothing more than to be a part of your motherhood and family journey. If you’d like to work together, please reach out! I offer a seamless, stress-free experience with a complimentary style guide, client closet, and a list of favorite locations throughout the DFW.
