Y’know my favorite thing about Spring in Texas? Bluebonnets. They’re such a lovely sight to see if you’re lucky enough to discover them at their peak during the season. Throughout the Dallas-Ft.Worth metroplex bluebonnets can be found scattered along the region’s major highways. You’ll find families and several cars pulled over on the highway with excitement in capturing bluebonnet family pictures.

If you’re a savvy local you know where to find some of the best spots for taking bluebonnet family pictures. The most beautiful patches can usually be found at local parks, walking trails, nature preserves, cemeteries, and near lakes.

Ennis, Texas is one of the most popular destinations for bluebonnets in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area. But if you find yourself living far on the opposite side of town, like myself, you become privy to the spots within your own neck-of-the-woods for bluebonnet family pictures.

Here are some of my favorite spots for Bluebonnets Family Pictures in Northeast TX cities such as Frisco, Plano, Allen, and nearby:

Toyota HQ/JCPenney Former Headquarters – Plano, TX: 6501 Legacy Drive. Plano, TX 75024

In the fields surrounding the HQ buildings of Legacy Drive are beautiful bluebonnet patches. During the weekends you’ll spot people pulled over or parked nearby taking photos of the bluebonnets. This spot is located a short distance from the Shops at Legacy West. So, if you’re nearby grab a bite at one of the delicious restaurants. Or if your family can’t agree with what you all have a taste for, check out the Legacy Food Hall for several options.

Bethany Lakes Park – Allen, Texas – 745 S Allen Heights Dr, Allen, TX 75002

The bluebonnets at this park are hard to miss. They’re abundant and luscious and can easily be found in thick patches around the park.

Mallard Park –Lavon, Texas: – 7780 S State Hwy 78, Lavon, TX 75166

Scattered across State Hwy 78 are plenty of spots for taking photos with the bluebonnets. Near Mallard Park you can easily find a safe parking spot nearby and take a short walk to many of the bluebonnet spots that surround the lake.
